![]() ![]() Share your thoughts on Snapper and Chris in our Comments section below or on our message board.The Young and the Restless, nearing its 40th year on television early next year, just hit another type of milestone: The CBS soap opera has topped all other daytime scripted programming in the U.S. Snapper (Hasselhoff) & Chris (Topping) say goodbye to Chuckie Snapper (Espy) tells Chris (Stewart) and her sisters about their mother's cancer Snapper (Espy) & Chris (Stewart) get married 1974 (Note: Topping passed away last year at age 61). Chris was Trish Stewart's first major television role. Espy became a daytime superstar and later signed a big contract to come to ANOTHER WORLD. The role of Snapper launched the career Hasselhoff, who went on to become an international celebrity. Seeing Chris and Snapper on the cover of magazines was common and the popularity of the couple, along with the excellent writing of William J. The Brooks and Foster families were the original core of Y&R and this pairing was at the center of much of the drama. THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS spawned a number of popular couples in the 1970s and 1980s including Snapper and Chris. Snapper returned two times in the past decade, first played by Espy (2003) then Hasselhoff (2010). ![]() She returned in 1984 for Victor and Nikki's wedding. Nine years later, Snapper took a job in London and Chris soon followed. A long-string of complications ensued including Snapper sleeping with Sally McGuire (Lee Crawford), which resulted in a child, Chuckie. Chris's father, Stuart, didn't approve of the way Snapper was too busy for his daughter continually disappointing her. Snapper, the eldest of the three foster children, worked hard to support himself and his family. ![]() Snapper was working and putting himself through med school when they started dating.
